Funding Request

Knave of Swords is a revolutionary, co-operative media studio in its infancy. A story first, method second approach and foundational belief that ideas are inherent to creative people are two of the pillars that hold up a non-hyperbolic revolutionary claim. Many media studios look for ideas everywhere, but few reach into their own pools of talent, despite the seeming obviousness of the concept. Even fewer run cooperatively. We are committed to being a different kind of studio, but will need help in our early days in order to do so. Knave of Swords is in its infancy, and as such, needs support in order to grow and gain its footing. We will be running soon, we know it! If you’d like to be a part of our development, it would mean the world to every single member.

How The Funds Will Be Raised

Stage 1: Founder Investment
➢ This stage is a testament of belief by the founder, Emyliane Clemence. Much of the initial fees and all of the sweat equity is a result of her unwavering belief in this studio and the change it represents in the entertainment industry.

Stage 2: Fervent Friends & Family 1.
➢ This stage of the studio will be one of sweat equity on behalf of the founder in order to build the required infrastructure for the studio to support a much larger push for funds via crowd-sourcing. This stage of funding is required for Knave of Swords to even have the dream of making it as a studio. 2.
➢ The return on investment at this stage is a percentage of the profits earned from the first major production. The production will be 60-minutes of animation, and profits will be derived from an aggressive post-production marketing plan.

Stage 3: Crowd-Sourced Investment 3.
➢ The intention for the major funding push in order to launch Knave of Swords is to market and garner support for the studio’s first major production. The production advertised will be 60-minutes of animation.
➢ The return on investment offered, as per the nature of crowd-funding, is the product advertised and a number of physical and electronic rewards outlined in the proposal. The product will be digitally delivered and the physical and electronic rewards are in a planning phase.

metrics for success

There are three (3) key metrics for success as the studio grows from idea into development, into a founded studio with a production underway.

1. The studio is legally founded with an educational website and an organizational framework that can sustain growth.

2. Marketing pathways are strategically planned with the first round of advertisement for the crowd-funding campaign published with a reasonable ROI. Additionally, financial and legal professionals are on-boarded on a contract basis and have signed off on the viability of stage 3.

3. The crowd-funding campaign is fully funded, appropriate talent is hired and outfitted with the tools they need to complete the first major production.

After the three stages of funding and the production is underway, there are further metrics for success of the studio.

1. The crowd-funding campaign successfully covers the full cost of production and the deliverable rewards for the Stage 3 campaign backers.

2. The production earns an amount that is equal to [production cost]+[R&D]=[Stage 2]+[Stage 3]+[ROI for Stage 2 Investors] with that final component being equal to or greater than the initial investment from said investors.

3. The post-production marketing push earns the studio a profit great enough to carry talent into a second production without needing a 4th round of investment.

Friends & Family Investment Structure

Stage 2 of investment is such that:
➢ $2667 = 1% first production profit
➢ With a maximum of 19% of said profit is offered to investors.
